Canal Run for the Troops with Scott Brown

* This is a little out of sequence, but I wanted to jump ahead to something that happened this weekend...
We ran a race with our My Team Triumph - Cape Cod.  This is a running team we joined where "angels" push "captains" with physical disabilities.  We've done a few races with them since joining a couple months ago.  This weekend was a race at Buzzard's Bay.  It was beautiful and flat.  And it benefited our armed service members.

It just happened that Scott Brown, our senator, was also running.  He's currently in a heated re-election race.  I'm a Scott Brown fan, so we got our picture taken with him.  Right afterwards, a reporter from the Wall Street Journal came up to us and asked us a bunch of questions!  Yikes - we both think they'll take Jim's quote "There's no such thing as too liberal for Massachusetts"... hmmm.  Regardless of politics, isn't it cool that we got to run the 5K with a sitting senator??

oh, and I have to write that my Team Triumph does not support any politicians or political parties.

Jayden had a fight with a chocolate donut.  Wonder who won?

There was a ribbon cutting ceremony with this young man that returned wounded in service.

The race was flat and fast and ran right along the canal.  Really beautiful.

I think I am the only sweaty person in this photo...  lookin' good, post race...

Enjoying the picnic and dj music.
