Friday I took the day off and contacted a couple friends to see if anyone else could join us in an activity. Kate suggested Drumlin Farm,and that was exactly the kind of thing I was thinking! So Morty and I met up with Stef & Clement and Kate & Ben. Morty had a lot of fun - so many things for little ones to see and do. Lots of farm animals to look at, a chicken coupe with a little wooden egg activity center, an old tractor to sit on, a horse hair "tail" to brush, some pails to pretend to milk a cow, a saddle to sit on... I think Morty's favorite was sorting the wooden eggs with Ben & Clem by size and dropping them through the holes. "again" he kept saying. When we were looking at the cows in the field, we sang "the cows are in the meadow, eating buttercups..." and all of the sudden, the big brown cow was right up next to us - it surprised me! He kept saying "again!" to that to.
After the farm, we all went to Dairy Joy and got a little treat. Morty and I enjoyed a frappe together (that's a milkshake for anyone not from New England).
