Here's what they say he's doing...
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — his lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now, and he's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. He can move his joints, and his sweat glands are starting to develop.
I might have felt him move Sunday evening. I'm not positive, but I just had a sort of unsettled butterfly-like feeling in my belly as I was sitting watching tv.
As for me, I gave up this week trying to hide the pregnancy. My pants were not really fitting, and I just don't like wearing loose blouses, so I stopped at the maternity store and bought a pair of designer jeans (hey, I wear them normally, so why not spend the money to wear some for the next year - I know Kristi & Brandon will understand my jeans needs...) and a couple of good knit tops. I discovered that I really like rouching! Very clever use of elastic for maternity wear! So now that I'm wearing tight clothes again, several more people at work now know, and I told my Young Women's class - they were all very excited and had many names to offer for the baby - not sure anything they suggested will actually work, but...
And a woman at the gym suggested I really should get a heart rate monitor, which means it was obvious to her I was preggers, and not just fat. (I tried to politely tell her that the heart rate guideline is now outdated and that I was listening to my body and just not over-exerting myself) She did say that she was in spinning class up to the day she delivered her first child, which is encouraging!
Here's my belly shot for the week - I'm wearing my first maternity skirt, Shady Lady original... I think it's casual enough to wear to work but nice enough to wear to church - double duty.
