We've been working with Morty to slowly get used to eating his breakfast in his chair (instead of laying across our laps). This goes along with the whole sitting in chairs & strollers & carseats - He hates it. He hates being strapped in. He fights it and goes into crazy extension trying to get out of it. We started a couple months ago by just having him sit in the Kid Kart and while fixing his breakfast (the Kid Kart is like a wheelchair for young children with neck and trunk and foot supports, fully adjustable while he grows). Eventually that progressed into eating a couple of bites in the chair. That increased a few bites a day, and then this week, he was at about 40 bites of oatmeal, and only eating a couple more bites after I took him out of the chair.
Today, the little champ ate everything while sitting in the chair, happy pretty much through the whole thing - even making a bunch of "mmm..." noises (quite a difference from the tantrums of the not too distant past).
I had to grab a few pictures.
Unfortunately, the kid has a bit of a reflux problem, so shortly after taking him out of the chair, he did a little puking action. But all in all, it was a good morning!
Yeah Morty! And mom and dad too! So happy! Every little bit makes a big difference!
