Natick had their 4th of July celebration on Monday. We went to the parade - which was much larger than I expected and started with around 20 fire trucks coming down the street full sirens blaring. With that auditory onslaught, Morty pretty much just shut down and fell asleep for quite some time. He did wake up later for some of the bands.
Jim and dad stopped work around lunch time on Monday, and after Morty's nap, we headed over to Ashland State Park. The city of Ashland doesn't have the funds to staff their park, but they kind of just allow folks to still go swimming at the lake beach and also let dogs in the water as well. It was the perfect spot for us. We snapped Morty up in his life vest and took him out to the water. We had tried this one evening before at Dug Pond with very little success, but this time - maybe because of the heat of the day or maybe because it was the second time around - he actually seemed to enjoy it! Here's a video of him bopping up and down with Jim:
Morty was really enjoying playing in the water! (Good thing because that water vest ended up costing a lot more than I expected!)
That evening we also went over to the Common for the band performance. Here's Morty with Grandpa, relaxing and playing with his hands.
And here's Grandma & Grandpa enjoying the breezy evening at the Common.
Cute pictures and we liked watching the video. Glad you guys could have a fun time with grandma & grandpa.
