Morten's Blessing

Last weekend Morten was blessed at our church.  It's kind of like a Christening.  Members of the priesthood give him a name and a blessing.  For Morten, Grandpa Lund gave the blessing, and Mike Dowling, Tom Keenan, Blake Zenger, and Paul Gorman participated in the blessing.

Here is the blessing he was given:

Our Father in Heaven, by virtue of the holy priesthood which we hold, we take this child in our arms to give him a name and a blessing, and the name by which he will be known on the records of the church and throughout his life in this world is Morten Robert Gove. At this time, Morten, we give you a blessing, a blessing that will last a lifetime. We bless your mind and your body that they will be healthy and strong and function just exactly the way they should. We bless you with a quick wit and a keen mind and the ability to feel compassion and concern for others. We bless you that though your parents will be endeared to you, you will be endeared to them, and you will always be interested in what they have to say and how they do things. We bless you, Morten, that in some future time you will find a worthy companion to take as a wife. We bless you that as you are taught about the Savior and about all the things that he has taught, you will understand them and will implement them into your own life, and they will be useful. These blessing we give you, and we do it humbly in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Unfortunately my camera battery was dead, so I don't have pictures from that day...  but both sets of grandparents have pictures I'll add in here later...
After Sacrament meeting, we all went out to a nice lunch at Legal Seafood.  It was a very nice afternoon!

We also had a little party for Morty the day before.  Here are some pictures from that:
