Our house is a little cooler than the Special Care Nursery... well, let's be honest - it can be a lot colder. Though we have old hot water radiators heated by oil, we use our pellet stove as the primary heat source. But it's still expensive to heat an old house. We've been doing our best to keep Morten's room a decent temperature - we got a little electric space heater we keep in there. But he sleeps in our room at night, and I think it gets a bit on the chilly side when the doors are closed. Morten isn't supposed to have a bunch of blankets to avoid SID issues. He usually has a snuggly microfleece sleeper on, but his hands have been getting chilly. So tonight I whipped up some little microfleece mits for him.
Yes, that's right... he's wearing his wool cap, a fleece sweatshirt, and his mittens to chill out inside the house. The pediatrician said to put him in one more layer than we're wearing... is that one more layer than I wear, or one more layer than what Jim wears??
Here's a little project I've been working on:
I get to it a few minutes at a time - in between feedings and pumping. Hopefully soon I can put it up on the nursery walls.
