Morty's speech therapist, Kate, has been telling us for months about an event called the Purple Shoes Challenge. It's an athletic event for kids with physical disabilities. The kids train for several months and set a goal. Then on a Saturday morning in the fall, they come together in a field house and compete. Kate thinks it would be a great event for Morty. The starting age is 5 or 6, I believe, but the people running it told us they might be willing to make an exception for Morty... so maybe next year?...
We went to the event with Stef and Clem. Clem had a blast running all around the field house and checking everything out! He keeps asking Stef if they can "go back to Wayland High School"
We saw Kate there and even saw Morty's developmental pediatrician, Dr. Davidson. He had a great time.
