Old Silver Beach

Last weekend it was so hot.  I really wanted to go to the beach.  So I did a little bit of searching and found some a website that has accessibility reviews of the beaches on Cape Cod.  I wanted to go to a nice beach that was relatively close, and pretty wheelchair-friendly.  I settled on Old Silver Beach in Falmouth on Cape Cod.  My friends, Mattie & Korrie, actually gave it rave reviews.

We went a little bit late, as the plan was to leave as soon as Morty got up from his nap.  And unfortunately, he woke up late, and we weren't the only ones with the idea of going to the Cape on a hot August Saturday afternoon.  I thought if we left late, we would miss all the dreaded bridge traffic, but we definitely hit some.  Jim wasn't too thrilled to be driving in the traffic, but once we got to the beach, all that was forgotten.

I definitely want to go there again.  The water was so fantastic - warm, even, for New England standards.  And it was fairly shallow for a long way out, making it especially nice for the little ones.  If we had gotten there earlier, the beach actually provides "beach wheelchairs", which are made out of pvc and big tires that make riding in the sand easy.  We were too late to try those out though, but we still had a great time jumping and kicking around. (maybe too much jumping)
