First we took Oscar & Abbey to a somewhat low key beach area for them to swim around. Oscar was in heaven. Abbey even chased after the buoy a few times.
We got on the boat and headed out. Morty was not entirely thrilled with his life preserver, plus he was a little hot.
We tried entertaining him with bubbles. That lasted about 10 minutes. maybe.
Then we dropped the anchor in a nice little spot and got Morty in a floating body suit. He didn't really know what he was in for...
This is one of my favorite pictures. He's checking out daddy and grandpa in the water and about to go in himself.
The water was a bit of a surprise for Morty, but he soon adapted and even enjoyed himself. Here we are still trying to figure out how to hold him. There was a bit of a freak out at this point.
It took a little while to figure everything out, but Grandpa Gove found that the best thing to do was to just hold Morty up with the back of the life preserver.
Jim even tried water skiing. It had been a few years since he last tried, and it took a few starts to get up in the water, but once he did, he looked pretty good. I gave Morty the play by play.
