Surgery
I realized this afternoon that I didn't tell people... But Morty had surgery last Friday. It was a two-fer - two procedures for one anesthesia. He had his adenoids taken out to try and clear his airway and help his breathing - he still has been sort of wheezy. Then he also got Botox injections in his legs. My layman's interpretation of why a little cp guy would get Botox: it deadens the nerve messages to his muscles and therefore reduces his spasticity, and then you can strengthen his muscles when he's not relying on spasticity to control his movements. It's quite a common therapy for cp, and his physiatrist, Donna Nimec, is pretty much THE person to go to for Botox.
Morty got to wear the "Tired Tiger" pj's again...
Recovery was a little tough on the Mortster. His throat hurt so bad he was refusing anything to drink for a couple days, and had to drink by a medicine dropper. But if he stays on the Tylenol and Ibuprofen, he's now doing pretty good.
